Fourblue have teamed up with a leading electrical contractor who provide ser ices to the renewable energy sector, and they’re expanding rapidly. As demand for clean energy solutions continues to rise, they are looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to take a leading role in the delivery of large-scale Solar PV farms and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

If you have a strong background in electrical commissioning, high-voltage systems, and protection maintenance, this could be a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge renewable projects across the UK.

Responsibilities of the Commissioning Engineer:Leading the full commissioning process from HV connections to module integration and SCADA systemsPreparing and managing test procedures, commissioning documentation, and ensuring compliance with G99 and related standardsLiaising with Independent Connection Providers (ICPs), suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project deliverySupporting fault investigations, protection maintenance, and plant replacements as neededOverseeing the transition from construction to Operations & Maintenance, and participating in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)Potential to step into SAP responsibilities or support Authorised Persons within the business

Criteria of the Commissioning Engineer:Proven experience commissioning large-scale Solar PV and BESS projectsStrong understanding of G59/G99/G100 testing standards and HV electrical systems (LV up to 132kV)Experience from a DNO background is highly desirable, especially with SAP or AP responsibilitiesSolid grasp of protection maintenance and plant conformity studiesFlexible and open to working on projects throughout the UKExcellent collaboration skills across internal departments, suppliers, and subcontractors
