Frazer, a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe focused on Utility and Civil materials, is seeking a Regional Sales Director, managing a team of up to 10.
Role Purpose
To maximize regional profitable sales growth by targeting product and solution sales to key customer segments and sectors, increasing new and active trading accounts, and driving full basket opportunities through framework sub-contractors. The role involves managing the external sales team to develop a customer portfolio, executing the National Sales Strategy, and collaborating with Regional Directors to support growth and customer service excellence.
Key Result Areas
- Define and implement a regional sales plan to grow trading accounts, sales, and margin, optimizing market opportunities.
- Lead, motivate, and coach the external sales team to ensure high engagement, motivation, and achievement; provide performance feedback to develop customer portfolios and maximize sales and gross margin.
- Build and maintain relationships with senior customers and suppliers, understanding their needs and providing proactive advice and solutions.
- Identify market trends and opportunities, contributing to sales strategy and aligning functions to maximize opportunities. Keep the team updated on legislation, market developments, products, and company news.
- Recommend service level agreements to meet customer expectations, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction, and developing plans to improve loyalty and repeat business.
- Translate commercial opportunities into product ranging recommendations that drive profitable sales and EBITDA growth, collaborating with Regional Directors and Brand Inventory Managers.
- Understand local market dynamics, pricing, and delivery modes, ensuring sustainable EBITDA through informed commercial decisions.
- Coordinate with central functions to execute marketing initiatives, promotions, and customer events.
- Manage debtor risks proactively with senior stakeholders.
- Develop a robust people and succession plan for the region in collaboration with HR and other stakeholders.
- Maintain excellent customer and supplier relations, resolving issues promptly to ensure positive experiences and loyalty.
- Promote safety, sustainability, and uphold company values of decency, passion, and pride. Foster team spirit across stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, with a track record of leading remote sales teams in distribution or related sectors
- Proven success in delivering sales, margin, and KPI targets
- Strong collaboration, commercial acumen, negotiation, and communication skills
- Experience in developing and executing regional sales plans
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
