We’re looking for a Building Fabric Engineer to join our Estates team based at The Portland Hospital. This role is vital in providing a first-class building maintenance service to the hospital, within the confines of the individual’s building maintenance experience.
What you’ll do:
- Proficient at painting, decorating, carpentry, tiling, plastering, assisting electrical and mechanical engineers
- First fix repairs to general hospital fabric fittings (e.g. furniture, wall paper, paint work, lockers, windows etc)
- Undertaking other tasks as may be issued by the Chief Engineer
- To respond to maintenance requests via the Engineering Central
- To prioritize maintenance requests and carry out tasks in a logical and efficient manner
- To supervise external contractors as directed by the Chief Engineer
- To advise the Chief Engineer on problems as they occur
What you’ll bring:
- NVQ, City and Guilds or equivalent qualifications in relevant trades like carpentry, joinery or plastering
- Experience in a facilities management or building trades environment is highly desirable
- Good general knowledge and understanding of all disciplines within building services
