We are recruiting a UK based Senior Sales Representative to join a large successful clothing and textile recycling business. This position will play a pivotal role in the commercial team in generating new business opportunities and expanding the market presence in the African region.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive annual sales and revenue targets for diverse customer segments primarily in the African market.
  • Proactively identify new pipeline opportunities and accurately maintain sales forecasts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and preferences to provide tailored solutions. Ensure that all customer complaints are investigated and resolved efficiently.
  • Optimise Group pricing strategies to maximise profitability while maintaining competitiveness.
  • Lead global customer visits to strengthen relationships and explore new territories for business expansion.
  • Collaborate with group sites to address opportunities or resolve issues related to products, markets, or customers.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with customers, demonstrating strong negotiation skills to secure profitable sales while maintaining professionalism.
  • Exhibit resilience and assertiveness in discussions to achieve favourable outcomes for the company.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and potential opportunities within the recycled clothing sector.
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans accordingly.
  • Coordinate with forwarding agents to plan weekly loading schedules and ensure timely shipments.
  • Oversee customer accounts and debt management to ensure steady cash flow across the group.
  • Liaise and ensure alignment with production and administration teams to meet customer expectations on shipment schedules and packing-list requirements.
  • Provide feedback on customer insights and market trends to inform product development and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Keep abreast of activities within other areas of the group which may impact group sales

Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in sales, within the clothing or textile recycling industry.
  • A track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Familiarity with recycled clothing and sustainability practices is a plus.
