Panning team Leader (Planning) Location: North Northamptonshire (Hybrid Working) Rate: £60 per hour Contract Type: Interim / Contract   About the Role:   We are seeking an experienced Development Team Leader to oversee a busy planning team in North Northamptonshire. This hybrid role offers a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality planning services within a well-established local authority.   Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead a team within the Planning Management section, providing professional guidance and support
• Oversee the processing of complex planning applications and enforcement matters
• Represent the council in planning appeals, hearings, and external forums
• Lead on pre-application discussions, including major and strategic developments
• Negotiate and implement planning obligations (s106 agreements)
• Ensure compliance with planning legislation and council policies
• Prepare reports and attend planning committees as required
• Investigate breaches of planning control and prepare enforcement action
• Deputise for Development Managers when necessary

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a senior planning role within a local authority
• Strong understanding of UK planning legislation, policies, and procedures
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
• RTPI membership (or eligibility) preferred
• Ability to handle complex planning issues and engage with a range of stakeholders
