Our client is a leading manufacturer with fabrication and welding processes on site. Due to continued expansion, they are looking for a Welding Engineer to join the company and bring fresh ideas to the New Process and Product Introduction, as well as Continuous Improvements on site.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Working within the engineering department
- Liaising with process engineers and welders
- Design and develop welding systems and processes
- Working to improve processes and production capacity
- Defining manual, semi-automated & fully automated welding procedures and processes
- Reviewing existing welding processes
- Analyzing, reviewing and implementing various inspection and analysis methodologies, e.g. radiography, sectioning, process FMEA, risk assessments, etc.
- Checking welding equipment is fit for purpose and recommending new equipment
- Complying with the regulatory requirements of AD Merkblatt, PD5500 and EN13445.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- A strong background in welding within a manufacturing facility
- Experience in high complexity welding processes as well as joining and bonding techniques, fabrication and metal-forming methods.
- Experience in delivery of new technology and product projects.
- Knowledge of design and regulatory requirements for the pressure vessel industry – AD Merkblatt, PD5500 and EN13445
